Units 3&4 Code - ART12

In Unit 3 of Art students focus on producing a self initiated folio that includes inter media and/or cross media explorations and interpretations. This body of work is further resolved and developed in Unit 4. The final folio must show documentation of exploratory work including a range of innovative visual solutions which reflect the evolution of ideas, concepts and skills.
The theory component of Unit 3 focuses on using interpretive frameworks to respond critically to at least two artworks by two artists from two different periods of time; one pre 1970’s and one post 1970. In Unit 4 students explore the meaning and messages of Art through interpretation of selected artworks with references to commentaries on art. Students submit a number of outcomes using various assessment tasks including essays, short reports and oral presentations.
